“Scientists are combining real animal and human embryonic material together to create a hybrid called
“chimeras” which are to be used in scientific research. The U.K. has not yet banned it’s practice, and some see
chimeras as a solution in addressing the shortage of human sex embryos available for medical research. Some
scientists, which have no ethical reservations in practicing with what they feel is an effective substitute for their
work on stem cells that could potentially offer new treatments for diseases. The use and creation of chimeras is
currently illegal in France and Germany.”
